About the service

Speedly provides a browser-based internet speed test and general educational material about broadband and network performance. The service is provided for informational and diagnostic purposes.

Speed-test accuracy

Results are estimates produced from the device, browser and network path used at the time of the test. Wi-Fi conditions, other traffic, hardware, browser behaviour, test size, routing and server load can all affect the result. A Speedly result should not be treated as a guaranteed measurement of an ISP’s network capability.

Data usage

A speed test intentionally transfers data. Larger test sizes can use a significant amount of a broadband or mobile data allowance. The maximum supplied download test is 1 GB, while the upload test is deliberately capped at a smaller amount. You are responsible for choosing a suitable test size for your connection and tariff.

Acceptable use

You must not deliberately overload, attack, probe, scrape, reverse engineer or interfere with Speedly or its supporting infrastructure. Automated or repeated testing that materially degrades the service may be restricted.

Availability and changes

Speedly may be changed, suspended or withdrawn for maintenance, security, capacity or operational reasons. Features, test sizes, server locations and supporting content may change over time.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. Subject to those rights, Speedly is provided without a guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. Users should independently verify results before making decisions that depend on a particular level of connectivity.

Governing law

These terms are intended to be governed by the laws applicable to the operator in the United Kingdom, without removing any mandatory rights that a consumer may have under the law that applies to them.

Operator review

The operator should review these terms against its exact legal entity, business address, insurance arrangements and commercial activities before relying on them as final legal advice.
